SMART reinforces with trend of saving the world by launching the campaign “Garbage in exchange for garden vegetable sets,” which brings residents of more than 400 residences together to participate in activities aimed at solving the problem of overflowing garbage in the city.

SMART through the campaign for waste in exchange for garden vegetable sets under the SMART Eco Caring Community project, a unique campaign in response to the global environment that has been running continuously for over four years and brings income from selling  waste back to develop the residences sustainably

Miss. Spun Paleewong, Director of the SMART Company Business Development, said of this campaign: “From the report on the situation of municipal solid waste in Thailand in 2017, 2023 found that Thailand has approximately 26.95 million tons of solid waste generated or approximately 73,840 tons/day, an average of 1.12 kilograms/person/day. SMART is an organization that cares and gives importance to environmental management for the good quality of life of our residents and all Thai people. We, therefore, focus on waste management. SMART has organized a trash exchange campaign for garden vegetable sets under the SMART Eco Caring Community project to encourage residents to be aware of household waste problems and to promote waste separation behavior, which is a basic step for sustainable waste management that everyone can do.”

Currently, the SMART Eco Caring project has been implemented for more than 400 residents, collecting and sorting more than 200,000 kilograms of waste, including main types of garbage such as plastic waste, glass bottles, and aluminum. Revenue from sorting and selling these wastes will be recycled into public funds to develop the project according to the objectives of each village. This, in addition to reducing environmental problems in the long run, also generates income that can be used to improve the quality of life of the residents.
